Dot + Dash Quilt Release Day

Posted by Nicole Daksiewicz on

Hi friends!

The new Dot + Dash quilt pattern is now available and I am also having a HUGE pattern sale today - Sept 7th.

Dot + Dash is a great quilt to showcase a fabric collection or your favorite color ways. You can also make it a scrappy quilt using the “Make it scrappy” directions. This quilt is perfect for both beginner quilters and those who love a minimalist quilt.

There is a coloring template link in all sizes included in the PDF pattern for you to plan out your project. Printed patterns should be here shortly as well if you prefer that style or are a shop interested in stocking this pattern.

The pattern is also jelly roll friendly, all quilts can be made using one jelly roll, the king size requires one additional fat quarter. These work best for scrappy quilts because they typically contain various amounts of each fabric.

Dot + Dash Pattern Specs:

  • Baby 38” x 50”

  • Throw 62” x 74”

  • Twin 74” x 86”

  • Full / Queen 86” x 86”

  • King 98” x 98”

This Dot + Dash features an upcoming line by Ruby Star Society called Whatnot by Rashida Coleman Hale.

One of my favorite things to do with a new stack of fat quarters is to stack them up in color order for a while and admire them before I cut them all up. This pattern plays with that layout - keeping the flow of colors and patterns in a similar pattern.

I quilted this one using my Janome 6700P - I quilted straight lines with a spacing of 1” in both directions creating a fun grid pattern that works really well with the layout of the design of the Dot + Dash pattern.

This Dot + Dash quilt features the “Make it Scrappy” directions. I include how many pieces are needed for each size so that you can dig through your scrap box and make your quilt entirely of scraps (and a backing print/color of your choice.

I used a ton of scraps left over from a few Ruby Star Society projects and Bella solids that matched nicely. Jelly Rolls are also perfect for the scrappy quilt! I recommend using the make it scrappy instructions and cut your larger pieces needed first, using a combo of all the prints or colors included.

Thank you so much for your support and I cannot wait to see all of your amazing work! I will be sharing some tester quilts this week so stay tuned - I LOVE all of the versions that they have created so far and can’t wait to show them off.
