Fusions by Art Gallery Fabrics // Boho Stacked Quilt
Hi friends, I am excited to share with you my most recent finish - the Boho Stacked Quilt! My friend Mathew - or as some of you know him Mister Domestic - asked if I would like to join in on the fun and pick out some fun Art Gallery Fabrics to work with it was a definite YES!
The Capsules and Fusions are little bite size collections that are a mash up of fabrics from different designers. So what you may create at home pulling from different collections to create something fun and new they did the work for you, coming up with combinations varying from very graphic like Take Shape to a toned down range called Ethereal Fusions.
After looking at all of the different lines (which is seriously a hard choice to narrow down to just one), I decided to go with Boho Fusions, and pair it with a beautiful Denim Studio Denim in Indigo Shadow.
Art Gallery Fabrics have a unique soft feel to all of their fabrics including the denim line, which makes it a perfect pairing for a quilt like the Stacked quilt I am sharing today. The thinness of it make for sewing and pressing open seams a breeze, and the feeling of the denim after washing your quilt is just amazing. This will actually be there third time I have included it in one of my quilts - you could definitely say that I am a fan.
The Boho Fusions bundle has a beautiful mix of fabrics from yellow to dark blue. The hot pinks and oranges in the line really stand out against the blue denim and make for a perfect Summery vibe quilt.
For the backing, I loved the larger scale floral print that is in the line - Acqua Rose di Boho. That print with the denim binding alone would make for a beautiful whole cloth quilt don't you think?
My Stacked Quilt pattern is the next pattern that I am hoping to release this next weekend - update - you can find it here!! Its a quick make, and is perfect for those of you just starting to quilt or those of you that like a minimal look to your projects. It's perfect for showcasing a line of fabric - or even using an assortment of solid fabrics.
I chose to make a throw sized quilt this time, perfect for picnic's with my family. The denim is a bit sturdier than the quilting fabric so it makes a great combo that will hold up to repeated washing and use outside in the grass.
Follow along for the rest of the #misterdomesticssewingparty with these great makers! Also, make sure to visit Mathew's blog and Instagram, you will find a pretty stunning mix of quilting, weaving and garment making.... and creative emoji use :)
