Hi friends, I have been a little absent from the blog for a few weeks - we recently moved from Chicago to Indianapolis and oh boy was it exhausting! Today I am sharing a fun new fabric line that an awesome friend of mine created - Good Hair Day by Kim Andersson for Windham Fabrics!

How cute is this hair curler set with Aurifil thread?! Kim had one of the cutest set ups at market!

This line is so much fun -  hair accessories, bows, bobby pins - Kim you had me at bobby pins!! The range of colors are also a treat, especially the dark teal.

Kim invited me to create something with the line and for my project I wanted to make a few things that could accompany me on trips out of town. I travel with many handmade bags to organize all of my things and I wanted to make something that told you what was inside the bag without having to dig around and figure it out.

For my toiletry bag I made a fun patchwork design featuring a shampoo bottle, conditioner and hairspray. The finished size of this block comes in at 14" x 13" and is composed of 1.5" squares. This can be used as a fun mini quilt for your bathroom (I'm not the only one with quilts in their bathrooms right?!) or finish off as a travel bag. I recommend using a bag pattern that has a boxed out bottom and add plastic lining in case of spills. Also by cutting out a quick S and C for Shampoo and Conditioner and backing with some heat n bond adds a little extra fun.

I also made a fun flat iron pouch and hairclip bag with a bobby pin strip on the inside to keep them organized.

Thanks for stopping by friends, hope you have a good hair day!
