Quick BBQ Napkins // Tutorial
Hi friends, summer is coming close to being over and we are right in the middle of prime grilling season here at our household. Today I am sharing a quick and easy project on how to make Quick BBQ Napkins. These are fantastic for reducing waste since they are re-usable and are a fun excuse to use all of the awesome BBQ themed fabric available right now. This tutorial was featured over on the Dear Stella Blog earlier this summer and now I am happy to share it with all of you guys too!
Materials needed: for 6 BBQ napkins
- 1.5 yards of Butcher's Chart
- 1.5 yards of Sunburst Stripe Charcoal
- Sewing machine and notions ( cutting mat, rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, straight pins )
- Coordinating thread
When making napkins it is always smart to pre-wash and dry your fabrics.
Cut each of your fabrics into 6 - 18" x 18" cuts.
Take one of each fabric and lay right sides facing each other, pin around edges to secure.
Sew around the perimeter using a 1/4" seam allowance, leaving an opening on one side at least 3" wide.
Snip edges and turn right side out, iron flat taking care to fold in edges of opening.
Sew around the inside edges of your napkin right along the edge, carefully sewing the opening closed.
Continue for 5 remaining napkins.
You now have 6 adorable BBQ themed napkins ready for your next cookout!
Thanks for stopping by for the tutorial today, if you make either of these projects be sure to share on social media and hastag #dearstella - tag me too so I can see all of your hard work!
