Hi friends, Some of you may remember this winter when I created a fun Wave Quilt using the large Pro Wave die from Sizzix....well guess what - they now have a smaller Bigz wave die and it's the perfect addition to the wave family!
I loved the quilt so much that I wanted to make a smaller scale project and as I usually do, I decided to make some pillows.
This project is made using the exact same techniques that I used on the wave quilt tutorial, just on a smaller scale.
For my pillow layout I wanted to create a pillow measuring 21" x 21" - I used a total of 35 wave cuts for each pillow front and arranged them in a 5 x 7 layout. After following the tutorial directions here, and after quilting I trimmed down each front to 21.5" square.
It was fun to use different blue thread along each section and space the wave stitching at different widths. I used my walking foot and followed along the wave pattern that the quilt shapes create.
I cut a 21.5" square backing from coordinating aqua fabric and added a simple white zipper on each one.
