Stacked Dresden Pillow
Hi friends, Today I am sharing a bit about how to make a stacked dresden pillow!
This finished pillow measures 18" x 18" and features some lovely new fabric from Tula Pink - Ship Shape from her Elizabeth line paired with a black chambray from Andover Fabrics. The only die you will need for this project is the Dresden plate Bigz XL.
Make a Sizzix Sanwich: Extended cutting pad, Dresden die with blade facing up, fabric (up to 8 layers) and Extended cutting pad. With the Sizzix Fabi machine, die cut dresden plate wedges out of your two fabrics. You will need a total of 10 wedges of each fabric.
On a flat surface arrange the wedges in an alternating pattern. Using 1/4" seam allowances, sew one row of wedges together and press. Once both rows of 10 wedges are assembled, sew the two rows together and press the seam open.
Using an acrylic ruler and rotary cutter, cut a straight line on both ends to square up your pillow top.
There are a couple of ways you can line up your two rows - alternating like above.
Or connecting like shown above.
Layer with quilt batting or fusible fleece the same size as your pillow top and quilt.
Finish your pillow with an envelope backing or with a zipper.
You are all done - insert pillow form and enjoy on your couch or bed.
Thanks for stopping by today friends!
