1 Hour Basket Tutorial // Review
Hi friends! I didn't imagine I would have anything to add this Friday for a finish but an hour later and I now have two things! On Instagram this morning I saw a few people making the fantastic 1 Hour Basket by Hearts and Bees (available here for free on Craftsy). With a few minor alterations you can make this fast and easy basket into an Easter basket! Perfect for a late night sewing project for this weekend, or like I did just in time for the Easter egg hunt at our local park tomorrow.
The only modification I made was making one long strap - 20" long instead of the two smaller straps on each side.
Kelly also made a few alterations - changing the 16.5" measurement to 13.5" to make the size a little more Easter basket like - I later saw this, but am still happy with the original size I went with.
I added some goodies that I plan on giving to Grey this afternoon after daycare, some egg dye for us to work on this evening and some treats to snack on while we decorate the eggs.
I found the free tutorial to be very easy to understand, excellent photographs and the fact that you can make one of these well under an hour makes this a fantastic project for even a beginner. The original pattern was created to house her many fat quarters, as the size is a perfect fit.
Kelly states that you may sell items made with this pattern but to please credit Hearts&Bees or Kelbysews in the listing or link back to the pattern. If you post photos of your finished baskets please link #hourbasket and tag @kelbysews
I think it is so generous of Kelly to provide this fantastic pattern for free, and hope that you all have fun making this easy and fast project!
Fabric for this project is from Dear Stella - Dress me for the playground collection: Bunnies and Hearts in Mint and Peach.
