Handcrafted Projects and Quilt Market
Hi friends! Fall quilt market starts next week and today I wanted to share some of the projects that I created using the Alison Glass Handcrafted line for Andover. Alison was nice enough to send me a fat quarter set of these fabrics and I had so much fun literally using every last scrap to make the following projects.
The first project I have is a fun pillow combining Handcrafted and Alison's new wool collection with Weeks Dye Works. I cut the wool hexies using my Sizzix Big Shot machine and 1/2" hexagon die.
I did a straight line stitch in coordinating Auriful thread that is also part of Alison's collection. It was fun to leave a little more negative space on part of the pillow, I think it gives it a unique look.
Next up are some fun zipper pouches I created using the AG Handcrafted line and Weeks Dye Works wool in the herringbone pattern.
The first pouch is large enough to make a fun clutch purse. This was created using my Sizzix Big Shot machine and Bigz XL Diamonds 5" Die. This die is traditionally used for quilting but I thought that it would be fun to make a quilted pouch with this and the size of the diamond pattern was a perfect fit. This was also quilted with coordinating Aurifil thread from Alison's line.
This is a fold-over style pouch using one of my favorites - the flying geese pattern.
Below is a sneak peek of a new quilt that I am making called "Read between the lines" This will showcase the AG Handcrafted line against Alison's text print in black and white. The final quilt will be a surprise for the show, so I will share pics later after market.
I will be attending market taking photos of the new lines, are there any that you are super excited about that you would like to see on the blog? Let me know in the comments below and I will make sure to include them in my market wrap up in a couple of weeks!
Also linking up with finish it up friday over at Crazy Mom Quilts!
Thanks for stopping by friends!
