Orange Blossom Pillow
In between catching up on Bee blocks, watching my son and finishing a quilt I have been playing with a fun new project that involves Orange Peels. These little seed shaped fabric pieces are so addicting and are great for scraps. I was working on a quilt top using a whole piece of fabric and ironing on the orange peels in a pattern, well...that has been driving me crazy. There really are an endless arrangement for those things, so it will have to wait. Until then I was playing around with a floral pattern and came up with this pillow, the Orange Blossom Pillow!
Once I can get caught up with a few more important things I plan on making a tutorial for all of you with a pattern to create your orange peels and some little tricks to make this a very quick and easy project. Now I am dreaming up a large quilt with this flower as the star, that will take care of the design dilemma I am in :)
The fabrics I used for this pillow are from Art Gallery Fabrics and the designer is Leah Duncan, it is from her line Meadow - which I might add is stunning. I have been on quite the Leah Duncan kick lately and will share a fun denim + Tule quilt I made once my backing fabric arrives. The backing is from an awesome fabric purchase... an H&M King sized duvet cover - yes...I will talk more about that soon. Until then, enjoy some pictures of today's pillow - looking forward to sharing the how to soon!
