WIP Wednesday: Forest Friends Quilt
As soon as I saw Ed Emberley's line - Happy Drawing based off of his book Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals I was hooked.
How could you not love these little forest creatures, the green eyed fox - the frowning toad - the black crow calling out KAW! They really are Happy Drawings!
I started this quilt top as soon as this fabric came out, which I believe was in April '12....yes that long ago. I got a little side tracked, decided that I didn't like the black sashing I placed in between the blocks and just left it alone to collect dust with all of my other sad WIP.
Well, I finally felt like taking care of some of these quilt tops and it just so happened that the only batting I had was the perfect size for this little guy!
I finished up the quilting last night....so I think. I might go back and do some straight line quilting going the other way to make a grid pattern.
The back is solid black, perfect for a kiddo to take to the park and lay on the ground and not worry about grass or dirt stains. I thought this would be a fun forest adventure quilt, drag it around with you while you are exploring! Still deciding on what color I will use for the binding, right now in my head it is either going to be solid black or black and white stripes....any thoughts?
Hope to finish this up tonight, and have it available in my Etsy shop by the weekend.
