Modern Maples Quilt top - finished!

Oh boy, I am pretty sure the cooler weather we had last night and all day today really gave me the push to finish this quilt top. I mean I wore a cardigan today, it was that nice out! maples3

Here are some pictures of my Modern Maples Quilt that is just a few steps away from joining me in my living room for some fall time snuggling. I really enjoyed this quilt block and got so carried away making them that I have extra blocks to make some pillows!

The fabrics I used for this project are mainly from the Timeless Treasures Sketch line, which I may add is my new favorite solid. I used it prior in my son's Starry Night Quilt and knew that the great fall colors would be perfect for this project. I started off with just four colors and realized that I needed to add some more and I love how all of the colors blended together so nicely. The newsprint is from Robert Kaufman's Objects line - Newspaper in tan.

Next dilemma is a backing fabric....anyone have an idea for a fun pattern? I thought it might be nice to use a wood grain for the backing, to keep with my Maples theme. Erin Michaels has a great one that might look nice - Lush Uptown Whitetail Wood Grain.

Linking up with "Finish it up Fridays" over at Crazy Mom Quilts. She has the cutest project using small scraps, which we all have! Hop on over and check it out :)

Thanks for stopping by!
