WIP Wednesday: Comma Quilt

A friend of mine from high school is expecting child number 2 soon and decided this time to keep it a surprise!  I wish I had enough patience for that, I would last one whole day not wanting to know and then banging on the Drs. door the next day begging him to tell me!

For this weeks Work in Progress I have an almost finished crib sized quilt for her little one. I finished up the quilting right before I went out of town for work this last weekend and now am just waiting on the delivery of the green fabric we chose for the binding.

The fabric I used on this quilt is the line Comma by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics. It is perfect for a gender neutral color line with bright oranges, greens and yellows.  I LOVE this line, so much I started the long task of making something with hexies that I am sure will take me years to finish!

The pattern I used for this quilt is the ever popular chevron pattern that I use to make most of my baby quilts. I have an easy tutorial here if you are new to this pattern and would like some help. (sorry for the horrible picture quality…working on getting a new tutorial on here soon.)

Linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced, Stacey from the Tilted Quilt is hosting this week and has some amazing pictures of what is happening in her sewing room this week.

Thanks for stopping by!
