Finish it up Friday: Little Mr. Blanket

For today’s Finish it Friday I have a blanket that I frequently make for my Etsy shop and for friends baby showers when they are expecting little boys - Little Mr. Quilted Blanket. image

These are quick whole cloth quilts that are so easy to whip up in under two hours! If you know how to make a quilt, well this is quite a few steps easier :)

For this quilted blanket I use Alexander Henry’s cute fabric line “Where’s my Stache?”, some black Kona cotton for backing and binding and the very best shortcut…. Hobb’s Heirloom Fusible Batting in crib size.

Fusible batting is such a great shortcut for making crib sized quilts. I have tried it in larger quilts and it doesn’t really stand up to the task. You just iron the top fabric, the back fabric quilt and trim…then you are done!

After you add some binding, it literally takes you less than two hours to make one of these.

I made this one before leaving for Indy this week because we are meeting up with a friend that is having her second boy next week!

Here are some more pictures of the project:

Also linking up with Finish it up Friday over at Crazy Mom Quilts, she has the cutest wonky log cabin up on her blog today. The quilting is especially lovely!

If you are looking for a Little Mr. Quilted Blanket for a new baby gift or in a larger size I am making these again in my Etsy shop. There will be a listing for a made to order crib size priced at $65 and if you would like a larger one for a big kid, or a couch throw just send me a message and I can quote you a price.

Thanks for stopping by!
