WIP Wednesday: St Louis 16 Patch
Hi guys! For this weeks project I started a quilt using a pattern I have been seeing quite a bit of on Instagram - The St Louis 16 Patch.
#StLouis16patch…..just type that in and let your mind be blown, there are so many!
Steffani over at Sew with sass // skburton designs actually started this craze way back in 1998 with her mother who coined the name. It has been made popular again and I am so excited because this quilt is so FAST to make! **click on the Sew with Sass link above for Steffani’s awesome tutorial on how to make this**
You know how you have a bundle of fabric that is your prized possession and you never planned on actually using it and instead just stare at it everyday. Well, I used mine for this quilt and oh my goodness it was physically painful to cut…but I am happy I did!
This fabric is the Architextures line by Carolyn Friedlander and I literally bought it the very week it came out! My husband is an Architect and I thought that it would be so awesome to have a quilt in our home that was geared more towards him. I used my entire fat quarter set of this line minus a black text font, since I needed an even number, 20 were used in total. When finished it will measure a little over 4 ft by 5 ft - 20 fat quarters equal 20 blocks that come to about 14” square.
Here are some pictures of my “WIP”. All blocks are done and now I just have to stitch them up.
Do you happen to have any of this fabric and have made something with it? Would love to hear, I have some nice scraps left and am looking for a fun project to use them in.
