WIP Wednesday: Churn Dash

Still working away on this little Churn Dash quilt top that I started a few weeks ago. If I hadn’t made the choice to add some embroidery I might be a little farther along … too late now!

This quilt top was really quick to make using the churn dash block. I love how simple the design is and am looking forward to using this pattern again but with alternating background fabrics. I love the scrappy look of some of the churn dash quilts I find online.

For my fabrics I used two charm packs of Twenty Three by Cosmo Cricket, and the orange is Orangina from Connecting Threads.

For my embroidery I am just doing a simple stitch around every other churn dash block in a coordinating thread color. It’s very easy….it’s just taking a very long time. My toddler wants to grab at this while I am stitching so I may never finish!

Here are some pictures of what I have finished right now. Hopefully I can get to binding this before the weekend. Also, a shot of the backing fabric and binding fabric I have chosen from the very same line.

I have also added this to the weekly "WIP Wednesdays" over at Freshly Pieced. Hop on over to see the beautiful chevron blanket she is working on!

Thanks for stopping by!
