Postage Stamps

While I am waiting for my fabric to arrive so I can finish up my Churn Dash quilt I am getting some work done on a “WIP” I have had collecting dust on my shelf. This is my Postage Stamp quilt I am making using a fat eighth of Lucky Penny by Alison Glass and a plain white Kona solid. These blocks are very simple to make and once you get going are very quick too! Once I have some more finished on this I will post a link to some helpful tutorials. I was inspired to make this after keeping up with Red Pepper Quilts blog. I love how she takes the most simple quilt pattern and makes a work of art! You really can use any fabric you have for a quilt like this and it will be beautiful, also using scraps would be perfect since the squares are 2.5”.

On a personal note, I have been in a serious sewing flurry for the last three days! I usually do not get this much done but it seems like this impending blog hop has really motivated me to get some work finished! I have been talking with some really awesome bloggers about what we like and dislike in blogs that we read and it has been a real eye opener. So lucky to have made some new blogging friends and am excited to see what every one has been working on in the next few weeks.
