Maple Leaf Quilt
Although summer has just begun I already have my sights on my favorite season...FALL! In order to have something ready by then I will have to start now. I say that only because my Christmas quilt for last year is still sitting on my shelf half finished. Along with a few other quilts that I should get to eventually. I’m sure I’m not the only person that does that right?
The Maple Leaf quilt block paired with the right fabrics will make for a prefect quilt to take out once the weather starts to cool down.
Here is an example of what the Maple Leaf block looks like and a link to the pattern instructions if you would like to make one as well:
Just placed an order online for the fabrics that I plan on using. Very excited to try out some more of the Timeless Treasures sketch line. I used some of the charcoal color in my Starry Night quilt for my son and love the way it turned out. For the backing of the maple leaves I thought it would be fun to move away from a solid and use a new newsprint fabric by Robert Kaufman. Here are some images from the fabric suppliers website.

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week. I just finished up a trip for work today so I am really looking forward to the next four days off hanging out with my son and getting caught up on some work…and sewing. Post a link to your blog with what you are working on this week if you like!
