For the past week I have been catching up on some customer orders, finishing quilts that I started long ago and making some quilted envelope pillows. I found a tutorial online a few years ago that I had bookmarked on my computer that has been a serious go-to for directions. Luckily for you there is a great new tutorial I found from a gal I follow on instagram that is fantastic. She even does several different ones, so you can customize your pillow to your liking!
Her blog is called I’m a ginger monkey and I will have a link to her tutorials here in case you would like to check them out:
How to make a pillow part 1 pillow prep basics
How to make a pillow part 2 making an envelope back
How to make a pillow part 3 envelope back with binding edges
How to make a pillow part 4 quilted envelope opening
How to make a pillow part 5 adding a zipper to your pillow
I promise you will love her style of tutorials and you can also see her amazing work and seriously amazing house. I instantly fell in love with her style as soon as a saw her Nike wall.
Anyhoo, here are some pictures of a few finished envelope pillows. These measure 18”x 18” and have a quilted front and envelope closure on the back. For the pictures an 18” square feather Ikea pillow insert was used, and recommended for home use. These will be listed in my Etsy shop later this week.
